"What color do you use to fill in black brows? Using black looks terrible!"

- Summer

Solid observation, Summer. If your brow hairs are black you should almost never use a pencil, powder, etc. that is black to fill them in because it will look super dark, heavy, and unnatural. The ONLY exception to this is if you have black eyebrows and a very deep skin tone. If your skin tone is at the very deepest end of the spectrum, you can use black, but even then the Ebony brow pencil by Anastasia Beverly Hills (you can get one here) works just as well. For everyone else, you should be using a much lighter color to fill in your brows. Essentially, you want to use an ashy, shadow-colored product, which will look much more realistic and soft. If you have more sparse black brows (like some Asian women), you can use a light ashy color like Taupe (here's a good one) so that the brows still keep an airy rather than dense feeling to them. For the majority of women though, a medium ashy brown product (like this) is the way to go. Stay away from brown brow products that are too reddish (hence all the 'ashy' recommendations), unless your hair has this same tone and you want to help your brows match your hair more.
