Coverage

How well a makeup product covers or 'hides' whatever is beneath it —typically imperfections in the skin.
Coverage is a term used in reference to foundation, concealer, and sometimes powders. The typical range of coverage is from sheer (meaning a product covers the skin a bit but the real skin still shows through) to full coverage (meaning the product offers the maximum opacity possible to cover the skin beneath).
Common Formulas
Concealers, Foundations (& BB/CC creams), and Powders can all come in sheer, medium, or full coverage.
Pro Tip
Select the amount of coverage you want based on how difficult of an area you are trying to conceal. For example, if you have skin that is very discolored from breakouts, you may want full coverage for that area in order to hide it completely. If you have relatively even skin, you can opt for sheer coverage.
